Epilepsy or seizures is a brain disorder that causes neurons in the brain send incorrect signals ultimately classified by causing seizures. Seizures (also known as fits or convulsions) are a symptom of epilepsy where as Epilepsy is a neurological disorder. The occurrence of one seizure does not necessarily mean you have epilepsy. The tendency to have seizures or fits is known as epilepsy. The seizures can vary between mood swings, loss of awareness, slow body functioning or unconsciousness. This brain disorder can affect both adults and infants.
There are many causes of epilepsy Medical disorders, Genetic influences, Head trauma, Pre-natal injury, Developmental disorders such as Down syndrome and autism and certain diseases such as meningitis, AIDS and viral encephalitis. Stiffening of the muscles, vomiting, and drooling, sudden urination, unconscious, vigorous shaking of arms and legs and memory loss are some common symptoms of epilepsy. There are few natural remedies that can help deal with epilepsy as they do not have side effects.
1- Globe Thistle, Black Peppers, Cow’s milk
- Make a fine powder of 20 gm Black Peppers and 100 gm Sphaeranthus indicus /Globe Thistle (Gul Mundi) mix in cow’s milk.
- The patient should be given 1 & ½ tsp this solution at suitable intervals for whole day.
- It is a highly beneficial and trial treatise to cure obstinate Epilepsy completely.
2- Pellitory / Longwort, Currants
- Rub 20 gm Currants (Munaqa) without seeds with 10 gm fine powder of Pellitory / Longwort (Aqarqarah) and start giving to the patient ½ tsp and increase ¾ to 1 tsp daily.

14- Rectified Spirit, Red Chilli
- Mix Red Chilli powder without seeds 10 gram and 300 milliliter Rectified Spirit in an air tight glass bottle let it stand for 15 days and stir it daily after 15 days strain and preserve in another air tight dropper bottle.
- Drip 1-2 drops into the patient’s nostrils. This will help the patient to regain consciousness immediately.
15- Garlic, Cow milk, Water
- Take 4 oz cow milk add 4 oz water let the mixture to boil for 10-15 minutes.
- Crush 6 organic garlic cloves Press on a sieve and extract garlic juice.
- Stir well extractd garlic juice to the lukewarm milk mixture. Drink once a day.
10 HERBS FOR HEALING EPILEPSY / SEIZURES
The use of herbs is a time honored approach to strengthening the body and treating disease. Herbs, however, can trigger side effects and can interact with other herbs, supplements, or medications. For these reasons, you should take herbs with care, under the supervision of a health care provider. Do not take Herbs great for healing epilepsy if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
1- Gotu Kola
Gotu Kola (Brahmi) is a rejuvenative nervine recommended for nervous disorders, including epilepsy, senility and premature aging. As a brain tonic, it is said to aid intelligence and memory. It strengthens the adrenal glands while cleansing the blood to treat skin impurities.
It is said to combat stress and depression, energize flagging mental powers, increase libido, ward off a nervous breakdown and improve reflexes. It energizes the central nervous system and rebuilds energy reserves.
Tincture – 30 to 60 drops, three times a day, Powered herb – 1,000 to 4,000 milligrams three times a day, Standard extract – 50 to 250 milligrams, three times a day.

3- Skullcap
- This plant is also a nervine with sedative qualities and is helpful in the treatment of many nervous conditions such as epilepsy, hysteria, anxiety and delirium tremens.
- Skullcap is available in powder or liquid extract form and as a dried herb. It is commonly sold in capsule form as well.
- The recommended dosage for adults is 1 to 2 grams of the dried herb, 2 to 3 cups of tea, 2 to 4 ml of the liquid extract three times daily, or 2 to 5 ml of the tincture three times daily.
- Children may use skullcap but in small doses. The best method of delivery is a mild tea. The child’s physician should be consulted before use.
- To make a medicinal tea try adding one pint of boiling water to 1 oz. of the dried herb and steep for 10 minutes. This can be served in half cup servings every few hours.
- For children add 1 cup boiling water to 1 tsp. of dried leaves and steep only 2 minutes to yield a milder tea.
4- Jatamansi
- Root of Jatamansi / Spikenard (Sumbal Tayyab) has been clinically proved out as a memory enhancer and neuro-protective can be a fruitful remedy for epilepsy.
- Practically speaking there are three ways a person can use spikenard. The dried root can be made into a tea. The plant can be made into a tincture and taken internally.

10- Passionflower

- The recommended adult doses for passionflower are 10 to 30 drops of the fluid extract, taken three times per day, and 10 to 60 drops of tincture, three times a day.
- Tea: Steep 0.5 - 2 g (about 1 tsp.) of dried herb in 1 cup boiling water for 10 minutes; strain and cool. For anxiety, drink 3 - 4 cups per day.
