18 TIPS AND TRICKS TO CURE HICCUPS
1-Hold Your Breath
This is probably the most well-known cure for hiccups. Simply hold your breath for as long as you can and slowly count to ten or twenty or until you sense that the hiccups are gone. Exhale slowly until your lungs are empty. Repeat 4 to 5 times or until you feel better.
2-Stick Your Fingers in Your Ears
Stick your fingers in your ears and slowly count to twenty will cure the hiccups. Or press the soft areas behind your earlobes, just below the base of the skull. That sends a “relax” signal through the vagus nerve, which connects to the diaphragm area.
3-Stick Out Your Tongue
Sticking out your tongue and yanking on it may stop hiccups quickly.
4-Pull On Your Tongue
Pull your tongue - hold the end of your tongue with your fingers and tug. This stimulates the vagus nerve and eases diaphragm spasms, which may sometimes stop hiccups. But you might not want to do this in public. And make sure your hands are clean first.
5-Tickle the Roof of Your Mouth
Tickling the soft palate of the roof of your mouth with a cotton swab may cure your hiccups.
6-Breathe Into a Brown Paper Bag
The old standby, breathing into a paper bag, is believed to work on the same principle as the breath-holding method. Both increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the bloodstream, and the body becomes preoccupied with getting rid of it. Place a brown paper bag over your nose and mouth. Breathe in deeply, and then breathe out really fast. Repeat the process up to ten times, or until your hiccups are gone. (Stop if you feel light-headed.)
8-Cover Your Mouth
Cup your hands over your nose and mouth, but continue breathing normally. You'll get hiccup relief from the extra dose of carbon dioxide.
9-Try the Open-Mouthed Swallowing Method
Open your mouth and keep it open for a couple of minutes. If you feel the need to swallow, do so, but try to keep your lips apart when you do.
10-Use Straws Cup
Another homemade remedy to get rid of hiccups is to fill a straw cup with water. Stick your fingers in your ears and sip through a straw. Hold the water in your mouth while you use your forefingers to plug your ears. Then, slowly swallow the water. You’re pressing on the vagus nerve while also getting the benefits of steady swallowing. Take your fingers out of your ears, and you should find that your hiccups are gone. It sounds strange, but tries it!
11-Drink Without Using your Hands
Put a cup of water on a chair, and sit on another chair in front of it. Bend down and drink as much of it as possible without using your hands to touch, hold, or tilt the glass.
12-Pinch your Nose
Try pinching your nose and swallowing three times. It's not as easy as it sounds, but it does the trick! Place gentle pressure on your nose while you swallow.
13-Hug your Knees
Bring your knees to your chest and hug them for a couple of minutes.

Breathe differently then you usually do. Take your air in through the nose and let air out through your mouth. By changing your breathing patterns you may be able to cure your hiccups.

17-Try Coughing
Count the number of seconds between hiccups. Around the time a hiccup should be coming up, or when you feel it coming up, cough loudly and/or scream! Repeat 3 or 4 times, if necessary.
18-Alert your Body
Lie down for a long period of time. Then, stand up suddenly. That is, if that's not how you got the hiccups in the first place! If this doesn't work, stand up for a long period of time and lie down quickly instead.
