Health Benefits of Poppy Seed Halva
Ingredients:
- Poppy seeds-----------------------1 cup
- Milk-------------------------------2 cups
- Powdered milk--------------------1/2 cup
- Whole dried milk------------------1/2 cup
- Coconut powder------------------1 cup
- Sugar------------------------------2 cups
- Clarified butter--------------------1 cup
- Cardamom powder---------------1 tea spoon
- Almonds--------------------------10
- Raisin----------------------------- 2 table spoon
- Coconut water--------------------1/2 cup
Method:
- Soak poppy seeds in 1 cup water overnight and then drain the water. .
- Blend milk and coconut water.
- Heat clarified butter in a wok and add poppy seeds .cook till seeds change colour.
- Add coconut mixture and cook till thick.
- Add whole dried milk,sugar and coconut powder in a wok cook some more.
- Take poppy seeds halva off the flame and then mix in cardamom powder ,almonds and raisins
- Dish out halwa in a serving dish; let it cool and serve.
